Lynda Borley

For Lynda Borley, the fact her money-saving solar PV system is also good for the environmental was an added bonus.

The retired drama teacher, from Deal, decided to invest in a 1.9kWp system after a close friend began looking into ways of bringing their energy bills down.

Lynda, who has 10 solar panels split equally on east and west facing sections of the roof of her semi-detached property, will benefit from annual energy savings of £170 and tax-free Feed-In Tariff returns of £660 per year.

The £8,000 installation will have paid for itself in less than ten years.

Lynda said: "I suppose initially I invested in solar PV for financial rather than environmental reasons. However, had the PV system been harmful to the environment I would never have considered having it installed.

"So the fact that it reduces my carbon footprint and helps prevent climate change is an added bonus.

"The one-day installation was perfect. In fact, the whole process from Enevis' free consultation through to the installation was incredibly smooth from start to finish. I am very pleased with Enevis."
